The party “Bündnis Deutschland” was founded on November 20, 2022. It is a new project for disappointed AfD members.
According to its own information, “Bündnis Deutschland” supported the right-wing populist voters’ association “Bürger in Wut” (BIW) with around 300,000 euros during the Bremen state parliament election campaign on May 14, 2023. Later, the BiW joined the “Alliance Germany”.
According to its own information, the party had 1,000 members in June 2023. In addition to former members of the AfD, they also include former members of the CDU/CSU, the FDP or the “Free Voters.”
The party presents itself as a right-wing conservative alternative to the extreme right AfD.
It sits in the parliament of the city-state of Bremen and in individual district and local councils.
The MEP elected for the AfD is Lars Patrick Berg. There are also state parliament members Markus Plenk (Bavaria) and Ivo Teichmann (Saxony).
